YES. Greats Snowboard Review

Looking for a quiver-killer? Look no further than the 2017 YES. Greats — one of the most high-performance all-mountain freestyle boards on the market today. Equally at home in the park, on the groomers, and deep in the mountain, the Greats prioritises versatility above all else. The trademark YES. CamRock profile offers a balanced combination of performance and versatility; camber between your feet for stability, edge hold, carving performance, energy, and pop; and rocker at the nose and tail for quicker turn initiation, effortless pressing and buttering, and increased float in powder.

The YES. Greats is a true twin; performing exactly the same in both directions. However, this board utilises an asymmetrical shape (heel vs toe), effectively giving the heelside edge a tighter sidecut radius. The asymmetrical shape counteracts the geometrical imbalances in toeside and heelside turns due to our physical anatomy. If you look at your snowboard stance, you will notice your heels are always closer together than your toes. We also have less finesse control when in a heelside carve, due to the fact our ankles have a greater range of motion when in a toeside carve. The asymmetrical shape gives you a more controlled, aggressive, and precise heelside carve.

New for 2017, the Greats also features an asymmetrical flex; the heelside edge has been stiffened up with carbon to further balance out these geometrical differences. The end result is a perfectly balanced snowboard that provides an incredible amount of control, power, and pop — in and out of toeside and heelside carves.

Bamboo (with poplar) in the core gives the Greats a lively, energetic, and responsive feel. Throw in their top-end sintered true base, and you have a high-performance snowboard for the all-terrain shredder who rips laps through the parks, lays down fast carves on the groomers, and is on the first chair every powder day.

We can't talk about the 2017 YES. Greats snowboard without mentioning the long-awaited return of UnInc — a legendary movement within snowboarding spanning more than a decade. You can brush up on the history of UnInc here. The topsheet graphic for 2017 features a collage of the greatest UnInc graphics of all time. The base graphic pays homage to fallen friend and UnInc member, the legendary Jeffy Anderson.

Like all YES. Snowboards, the Greats is backed by the industry-leading YES. For Life lifetime warranty program. YES. is the only snowboard company in the world offering a lifetime warranty on their full range of snowboards. YES. is truly a rider-owned and rider-driven snowboard brand — and that fact alone deserves a second thought when making your next snowboard purchase.
