Surfing in the New York Blizzard

Bad weather? Not if you're a surfer

For most New Yorkers, the recent blizzard meant closed roads, shops, transport and workplaces — a total city shutdown, and a great inconvenience. For New York's surfers, though, the blizzard meant a total barrel-fest in the Atlantic Ocean off Brooklyn. One of the "worst" blizzards in decades turned out to be one of the best for those brave enough to don the steamer and hit the freezing waters.
