The Rad Gloves Ranch Hand Mitts are my first foray into mittens, having always been a glove man previously, but now I’m a convert, I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about them.

But before we get too carried away, you guys need some details about these mittens. They’re available in 3 sizes — small, medium and large, and you have the choice of two colours — black or yellow.

They’re made from real leather so before you hit the snow you’ve got to make these bad boys waterproof, but that's pretty easy and they come with a satchel of Nikwax. Being leather they also have the added bonus of shaping to your hands after you’ve been wearing them for a while and they’re more durable than other materials.

To keep you warm the Ranch Hands are fleece lined and have individual fingers, so your hands stay toasty and don’t get all sweaty. They also come with wrist leashes so you don’t accidently drop them on the chair lift.

Getting down to business and what they’re really like in Australian snow conditions. I’ve got no real complaints, they keep you dry and warm, are easy to get on and off and despite being mittens you’ve still got reasonable dexterity when wearing them.

Overall I’d give them an 8/10 with another 8/10 for warmth. They’re available through the Boardworld Store so go grab yourself a bargain before someone else does.
