3CS Outerwear: This is Why

Celebrating 15 years of 3CS Outerwear

3CS Outerwear first hit the Australian market during the winter of 2002. Founded by Brad Scott, 3CS has firmly established itself as one of Australia’s greatest snowboarding brands. Early in the brand’s history, Brad joined forces with industry stalwart Jaye Botfield, forging a strong partnership that has become the backbone of 3CS. In 2017, they celebrate their 15th year of operation — still holding true to the same values they started with 15 years ago.

From day one, the Built Tough mantra was ingrained into the brand’s DNA. Drawing inspiration from tough workwear brands such as Carhartt and Dickies, 3CS was on a mission to manufacture technically superior and durable outerwear made to endure the toughest conditions. Their focus was purely on customers who ride all season long.

It wasn’t always smooth sailing; initial challenges of minimum order quantities (MOQs) proved a pain point for the newly-established brand. The solution was to consolidate the range to a smaller but impressive offering that resonated with stores and customers. The response was incredible right from the start, giving them the validation they needed to push forward in a competitive global market.

With their continuing dedication to fabric performance above all else, 3CS has paved a path to technical excellence, working with partners such as DuPont to bring NANO DWR applications to outerwear. Nanoparticles actively penetrate the fabric to provide exceptional resilience to the elements; this is one of many reasons why 3CS outperforms the competition. Looking to the future, 3CS is set to introduce their exclusively-developed CLIMATECH membrane technology to the market, keeping them at the forefront of outerwear development.

Today they are known around the globe, with riders such as Heikki Sorsa, Nick Hyne, Geoff Brown, and Andy James flying the 3CS flag. This season they launched an all-Aussie collaboration with The Mad Hueys, in addition to a collaboration with Spring Break Snowboards. As we look forward to 2018 and beyond, 3CS remains steadfast in their dedication to pushing the limits of outerwear durability and performance. Please join us in saluting 3CS on 15 incredible years in snowboarding. Congrats, fellas!
