Win a waterproof Tachyon XC micro video camera

Avatar

Sportscamera.com.au tested a bunch of cameras on the weekend. Here’s some of the feedback…

“We’ve chosen the Tachyon XC micro for the contest, cos it’s waterproof, shoots good footage, and you don’t need a new computer with complex editing program. I wore one on my helmet in the snow and it took a heap of knocks no worries and its waterproof to 2 atmospheres. No fogging either (both our GoPro’s fogged up)”

The Tachyon XC micro has a patented Shock-Proof design which prevents loss of video (the most common problem with helmet cameras).

The prize also includes a 8GB Micro SD card and some Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries for the video camera.

In 100 words or less, tell us what snowboarding action you would film with the Tachyon XC micro this season. Whoever describes the most creative/fun/entertaining scenario will win. Please keep in mind - If you win, we will need you to go out and film the footage you described and post it into this thread.

Winner will be announced this time next week (9:00pm AEST on Monday, August 2).

Prize courtesy of http://www.sportscamera.com.au - make sure you check them out!

If I won the camera, I would take it on my trip to NZ (5th August if it arrived before i left lol) and would film the week worth of awesome time I have with some of my best friends and other randoms on the tour. Snowboarding, clubbing, shenanigans and some time on a farm in like the middle of whoop whoop land.

And maybe some Fergburger.

If I can’t get it in time, I would take to our NSW snow trip and get a group of 16 people having the maddest weekend of the year!

This camera will be used to document the happenings of an epic road trip around North America. Travelling in our RV
we will be shreddin up Parks City, Colarado, Wyoming, Oregon, Big White and Whistler over a 6 month period. I’ll be setting up a weekly blog for all you forum members interested and with this sweet camera I will be able to upload little clips of the fun times we will be having. Footage will include day and night sessions both on the moutain and of surrounding street terrain, also we will be attending the Canadian Open, US Open and as we also skate… there will be a bit of that also as there are some rad skate parks in the States.

Cheers Dan

Awesome addition, but I would have thought that sort have stuff would have been included lol… Kind of strange that a camera of this quality uses generic batteries and doesn’t have a specialised rechargeable one.

All of that stuff was included, just forgot to put it in the original post. wink

Detailed info on the camera can be found here: http://www.sportscamera.com.au/2010-tachyon-xc-micro-p-323.html

The camera takes standard AAA batteries. You can buy rechargeable AAA batteries from Dick Smith or anywhere else.

What a crackin setup danblar!!! You do need some massive Boardworld Decals down the side though!!!! Or one that covers the Green Bonet (hood)!!!!

haha yeh its pretty bad ass ay my buddy in Bend has it parked in his garage for the summer but takes it on the occasional mission. A big boardworld sticker would go sweet on that front bumper, ill need to have a word to Jeremy. Take boardworld, worldwide haha.

if i won this camera i would use it to help me through university and shoot all of my friends back home surfing and help them get sponsors. also for at the end of the year when i save up money and go work in france i could use it to document amazing things and show people another perspective on snowboarding and living in the snow. also being a student the only way i would ever be able to get one of these is if i won it or stole it. not many bones in the bank!

I would trek to them there yonder hills and do battle with vikings and pirates in a quest to slay the mythical complete park run without falling upon my own sword or my new enemies.  Not quite knowing what pirates and vikings were doing in said park, i would carry on with much swashbuckling and daring do ,one hopes, before emerging victorious with all the action caught on my new Tachyon XC micro, failing victory i shall have glorious defeat captured for others entertainment! a win win all round! three cheers for the king hurrah hurrah hurrah!

I would celebrate winning this camera by shouting all my mates on campus a beer. I would then demonstrate to everyone the versatility of my snowboard by using it as a drinks tray to carry said beers and deliver them door to door to my mates throughout the campus residences. I will make a valiant attempt not to drop one!

Awesome entries already!! Way stoked with the creativity, general craziness and dedication to snowboarding
- going to be super tough to judge this. Keep the entries flowing though and make us really have a tough job choosing a winner. By the sound of certain entries though, it is very lucky we’re offering a beerproof…..errmmmm… oops typo… waterproof cam, haha ( looks at TJswish and T-spec)
PS arrrrr - that be a lively entry from the bilge rat and his wench, ye may get to meet danblar as he travels the seven seas on his mighty trip!
PPS some gold dubloons for nelsonjameshogg please, studies are tough times, but worth it in the end smile

Congratulations T-Spec, you’ve won the cam for this comp! Though the deal is you have to film (very soon after receiving your cam) your said venture and put it on boardworld for us all to see.
Some MASSIVE efforts in here, T-spec was chosen cos the cam is 20m waterproof and shckproof and he is going to need every bit of that ‘waterproofness’ for the beer spillage and ‘shockproofness’ for the stumbles and stacks that will inevitably happen, haha

We’re going to speak to Jeremy about doing another comp as the entries were such a high level of effort and fun, it really wasn’t easy to choose. You guys are a blast and we’ll be staying behind boardworld as the members here definitely know how to have a good time and that’s what we’re about too.

We’re a small, close-knit Australian company who believe life is too short to be serious and want the good-time people to have the best to record their adventures.

T-spec, please drop us a note at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your address etc. and we’ll sort you out with the Tachyon mini XC!
