What’s your worst boarding injury?

Well, it’s a bit of a stretch to call it a snowboarding injury, but it happened on the mountain in Buller. I had a girl come up to the room who liked tea, so I got out a nice clear glass teapot and proceeded to make tea with the obvious intention that she’d be so impressed, she’d let me get in her pants.
After we watched a movie, she wanted another cup. I had to wash the pot, it was one with a glass ‘bowl’ and ceramic handle. Being lazy I decided to put it in the dish washer, but I thought it best to remove the handle first.
Turns out that I had my hands on each side of the ‘bowl’ part and when I tried to seperate the two parts, the glass literally ripped apart with in my hands (imagine opening two folding doors from the centre, you put your fingers on the edge and push outwards. Same motion)
Anyway, it turns out that ripping a glass bowl apart with my bare hands was a little foolish, due to the fact that a) broken glass is rather sharp and b) my skin can be punctures by sharp things.
So before I know it, my evening plans went from playing doctors and nurses to asking a nurse to see a doctor.
I had three stiches in my right pinkie, four in my right ring finger, two in the right middle finger and three in my left ring finger.
Stragely, the girl in question wasn’t really all that impressed, but what did I care, by that time I had a head full of codiene. I thought I was a damn helicopter or something. Apparantly a hallucinogenic, kitchen-challenged, blood covered fool is not what women in the snow were after.
Who knew.

I had a few injures and all had been on the last day except one. In 07 at blue cow I was on a lift which stop due to high wind. This wind gust caught my board and twisted my left knee. I was lay up for 2 weeks before I could put any weight on it. In 08 I land badly on my right knee end up with a baker sic which burst on the plane on the way home from Japan turning my caft into a stump. That lay me up for 4 weeks. 2011 Japan I had a mild stroke on the slopes and end up in Hospital. also injured my shoulder while hiding in my wardrobe in my 40th floor hotel room during the .9 11 th of March Quake. I consider this a snowboarding injury due to the fact my board was in the wardrobe with me at the time of the Quake

why would you hide in your wardrobe? strongest & safest place is in a doorway (which also guarantees a way out, but not from the 40th floor)

Also my worst snowboarding injury is a dislocated knee learning how to tame dog.
Although one time I folded my self in half (backwards big surprise ) when I hit a drop that the landing had heated up from the sun since compared to the last lap I did it and got super sticky. A kind of ultra scorpion… I felt every bone in my back make a crack sound and for a second I thought I had broken it, so scary.

Yes That right but the night before I was reading the hotel info book while backing one out. Its say to close all door and brace yourself in the robe This is the Sepia Towers above Tokyo Station, built recently. Latter I was to find out that keeping the door close make each room a separate cell with no weak spots. The robe was a open enclave in the hallway. Not one item in my room or bathroom was knock over. The way the building absorb the Quake force was something I will never forget.

Strained medial collateral knee ligaments is the extent of my injuries..

Can’t say the same for my missus over the weekend just passed..
Up at Falls Creek, falls on her butt… hard..
Two hours later she’s riding the helicopter to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne :(
Crush fracture of the L1 vertebra in her spine >_<
Luckily it was a stable fracture, requiring only conservative (read: bed rest) management.

Don’t think she’ll be keen on getting back on the board…
Maybe if I convince her to go to Niseko with all the Japow!

HAHAHAHAHA so funny!!!

I’ve had a few injuries nothing TOO EXTRAORDINARY. I think my worst one was busting my lip on the T-bar.

The track was all cut up, caught an edge, lost balance, fell forward and smack! the T-bar whips me in the face. I had to get five stitches to my lip.

The pic is a bit… steamy… but I have blood pouring down my face, medical centre lady at Thredders took one look at me and said “woah have you seen yourself? You look like you’ve been mauled!”

2nd one - minor concussion at falls creek, got a free skidoo lift down the mtn! WIN!

Fell on my thumb when doing a box I didn’t scout(my own damn fault ^^)
It hurt and I felt like I was fainting but that was because of the shock I guess
I was smart enough to put some snow on my thumb against bruising/swelling
And now it only hurts when I put to much pressure on it :D
I have never broken something or had something seriously, guess i’m lucky(I’m also really careful before I do stuff on my board :p)

Torn Rib Cartilage. 2 seasons ago, had only been boarding for 6 times. The 7th time I decided to venture into the trees (Arthur’s Choice) in spring, in the morning, when it’s still hard snow. Fell twice, torn my rib cartilage.
