SORRY + CHOOSING MY FIRST BOARD!

I’ve just finished Med School and decided it’s time for another vacation. I’m not a fan of a summer at all so I’m going to chase winter for the next 8 months. I’m new to Snowboarding and I am keen to get some gear before I head away. I hate making uninformed decisions, and I have been researching for a while but there is a plethora of information on the internet and I’m probably now more confused than when I started.

I’ve booked the following:

Australia > New Zealand > Argentina > Chile > USA (East & West) > Canada (West) > Europe (East/West/Central) > Finishing Off in China, Korea (North & South) & Japan.

I’m also your very commercial, typical ski-in-ski-out guy that doesn’t adventure out of the park.

I’m also 195cm and weigh 93kgs.

If someone could please recommend me a board and bindings combo that would be suitable. I don’t really have a budget, just want some really quality gear.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou

Sounds like it will be an awesome trip. Sounds like you’ve got a decent budget to be able to afford such an awesome trip.

Honestly you’re a pretty tall guy at 195 and for your size 93kg is pretty average / skinny.

Biggest issue you’ll have is what size boot do you wear?

Now you say you like park but is that just because you’ve only ridden in Aus? I love the park here too but in Canada I never went in the park because there is so much cool terrain to explore.

If you’ve got a regular person size boot (9-12) and you are sure you’re going to stick to the park, I’d be looking at something like the Yes Jackpot 158 - https://www.boardworld.com.au/products/yes-jackpot-158-snowboard-2018 or the Bataleon Evil Twin - https://www.boardworld.com.au/products/bataleon-evil-twin-157-snowboard-2018

If you’re keen on the park but have never been overseas to shred (And are now thinking you might be more of an all mountain / park kind of guy) I’d look at something with a bit more power and float in powder but still good in park like the Rome Mod Rocker - https://www.boardworld.com.au/products/rome-mod-rocker-159-snowboard-2018 for a rocker option, the Arbor Element - https://www.boardworld.com.au/products/arbor-element-premium-159-snowboard-2018  or the Yes Type which is hybrid camber - https://www.boardworld.com.au/products/yes.-typo-158-snowboard-2018

Welcome to Boardworld, @MATTYHARR.IS!

Before I make any suggestions, what size boots do you wear?
