Video Editing

Last winter I made a lot of video’s with my GoPro, last week I found the SD card and saw the footage I made.
It’s not really impressive to watch, so I would like to edit the footage.
What kind of software do you use? And is it a lot of work to make a nice video and learning to use it?
Or are their people who hired a editor to do it for them? and what do they charge?

Looks like a total waste of money to me!! Only a retard would pay money to have their edits done by someone else. Making the edit is half the fun!

I’m a bit late to the party but Gopro give away a FREE editing program that is perfect for the average Joe to use to edit their clips, check it out! http://shop.gopro.com/softwareandapp/gopro-studio/GoPro-Studio.html

That said I use the Adobe suite; Premiere for video, After Effects for graphics, Speed Grade for colour and Audition for sound. You can get an Adobe subscription for $50 a month and have access to ALL their software and updates which is AMAZING for a media professional.

^ definitely beats like what, usually $2k for premiere?

I used to use that when I was doing film study at uni. I was looking for a slightly more advanced Non Linear Editor so I can work with outputting more than one footage, but there’s so many options I get confused..

I’ll use it to do primary editing; eg, cutting and splicing. Especially if I need to get footage online as quick as possible.
As you mentioned it’s a great tool for conversion.

Using mpegstreamclip alone I can get 30min of raw footage from the camera, cut down to a 4min clip and uploaded in around 15min.
