If you are looking for on snow, there is a few options.

1. You didn’t buy a season pass yet. Then try to get a job with Perisher as the savings would probably be worth it.
2. Try the hotels around the mountain. Getting a job at some places will be easier than others and depending on your resume / experience, pay will be different.

As it’s getting into Feb, you might also be pushing it late to get a job with some places.

Try emailing all the hotels on the mountain. A list of the hotels can be found here:
http://snowholidays.com.au/perisher_hotels_accommodation_snow_holiday_package.html
http://snowholidays.com.au/perisher_lodge_accommodation.html
Just google the names of the hotels and send them all a mass email (USE BCC SO THEY DON’T KNOW YOU ARE SPAMMING YOUR RESUME OUT) Maybe try to be selective at first and try the nicer sort of places like Perisher Manor, Perisher Valley Hotel and the Man from Snowy River hotel. Sundeck is also nice but there is a pretty big hike up the hill if you ever want to go out for drinks.

Getting a job at a hotel will be a more advisable role for a few reasons:
1. On snow accom.
2. Good group of friends on snow
3. Better pay
4. Better hours (Dinner shifts = more time snowboarding. Working for the mountain = lots of lunch shifts)

Or, if you’re not 100% fussed on Perisher, there is the same option for Thredbo and there is this job which is currently on Seek.

Yep, approach Perisher (they started taking online applications a couple of weeks ago through fb - it’s now open to wider applications). Interviews will be conducted in April.

Best for on-snow accom is to work in the Perisher Center, most of the on-snow positions are for chefs and you get a season pass in the package. Accom is a shared room and deducted from your pay. You usually have time to do a few runs before starting work each day.
Some of the independent hotels/lodges put their staff in beds (especially chefs and cleaning staff).

here’s a link to the village map, contact any/all of the places on it wink

I sent one out to the main perisher site and got a ‘congratulations you’ve made first screening’.  Stoked!
interviews are in April but I’ll definantly spam a few more out.  thanks heaps for the advice guys!

No worries mate. If you paid the $700 for the pass, then hotels might be a better option. If you didn’t, I’d probably take the perisher job if you get offered it.

keep us up to date with how you go smile

Make sure you push for a job living in the resort. Accept no alternative!

I agree here.

While Jindy can be awesome, you’ll end up paying the same for petrol / transport / time (if you put a $ value on it) than what you’ll have up on the mountain.

And on the mountain, you can go night boarding each week which is awesome fun, especially with your friends and no issues getting home etc.
