Trace - Action Sports Tracker

I saw this yesterday on Jordy Smith’s instagram feed, seems he’s signed a deal with these Trace guys.

Trace is an action sports tracker for the surf and snow enthusiast. It’s not your everyday run of the mill tracker either.. This thing looks pretty legit. It tracks every run, every wave, every foot of vert and how many degrees you rotate in the air — with incredible accuracy and without using your phone’s battery. Still not impressed?? Trace also syncs with your Go Pro, drop the footage into your dropbox and this thing will…. Cut out all your waves, colour correct the footage, add your stats and compile your waves onto your own Trace Video page.

I like it, would probably buy it for $99 but not $199.

I love this idea, i use my phone for skate and snow tracking, and main gripe i have is its accuracy…

That price is pretty high though for what it does. With the current exchange thats around $260aud.

Would be intrested in seeing if they would do a group discount, or if the boardworld store can pull some strings and get that price down a bit.

Trace has an app for your phone. I use it and it’s pretty good.

yeah, i used AlpineReplay last season, its a great little app.

Would be keen to use it with the skate-a-tron rides.

Dat price is the killer though. I sent em an email to see if they’ed do a group discount.
Ill see what they say, and post it up here. If anyone is keen to get in on it, and save some $$.

Yeah.. I used it on the recent snow season and I was about to be very disappointed as the app crashed, but as I learnt, even when it crashes it still keep the data so it’s all good.

Definitely going to be using that app more. =)
