Welcome to Ballistyx! If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Recognised as Australia’s largest snowboard dealer, with the opening of its new store in January that has everybody talking, it is now considered one of the world’s premier stores.  If you have travelled to Whistler in Canada, Tahoe in America or just about anywhere else, you won’t find a snowboard shop like this one. It has its own indoor skate bowl (some of the top teams have skated and loved it), but the snowboard section is truly amazing. Major companies such as Nitro have developed their own concept areas and utilised Ballistyx for first releases. This year Ballistyx was consistently the first shop in the world to stock 2011 product and that includes nearly every brand.

This place is worth the drive, located just off the eastlink out in Ringwod, now with the new freeway it is a short trip from just about anywhere in Melbourne. The vibe in the place is awesome,  this is a snowboard Shop, not a ski shop selling snowboards, not a watersports shop selling snowboards, but a snowboard shop run by guys who know their stuff. Ballistyx became famous for backing their recommendations, for example if you buy boots from Ballistyx and you can’t ride in them all day then they give you a brand new pair! You can’t get better than that.

They also have the best prices in Australia, the first shop to combat the internet, you can buy product so cheap at Ballistyx and get warranty and their guarantees. Top brand snowboard boots for $99, $149, outwear the same deal, all the companies supply Ballistyx excess stock as well, so whether you are after the latest and greatest or an absolute bargain, Ballistyx have it. Ballistyx has the biggest range in Australia, more boards, more boots, more outerwear, more of everything.

Ballistyx also put a more back into the sport than any other retailer,  they have just about the best Snowboard team in Australia with riders of the calibre of DC’s Ryan Tiene and Mikey Williams, K2’s Robbie Walker and others. They also produce The Ballistyx Snowboard TV Show which last year screened on the Nine Network and was the first snowboard series in the world to make it to free to air television, yes Ballistyx are instrumental in getting the sport of snowboarding out to the masses.

In another first, their new superstore have Melbourne’s only off mountain Burton Progression centre utlising the LTR program (learn to ride), simply the best rental system on the planet, so if you need to hire you can do it all instore at Ballistyx, you can even organise accomodation and tickets instore through Mint Tours which has opened up inside Ballistyx. Yes Ballistyx has its own instore travel agency, a colloberation with Mint Tours who specializes in snowtours to New Zealand and Japan, anything and everything needed for snow is instore. Like we said, if you can get out and check out Ballistyx, you’ll love it!
