How far off is the surfing side of the website and forum?

We are just starting to build content for the surf section. We are launching the skate section on September 1. We are launching surf on the forums on September 1. Realistically the surf section will launch a few months after that. Feel free to send us ideas or content you would like to see in the surf section. We are really looking forward to getting all sections up an running as soon as possible.

personally, the same kind of things as the Snow section would be great. The regular video's are great too.

so things like:
latest products - boardbags, new fins & leggies, grip pads, wetties & rashies and of course boards from good shapers/manufacturers
health and fitness - the big one - sun & eye protection, how to prevent injuries, best off water training for surfing etc
locations - to some degree a bit of a *travel guide* if you will. Places easy to get too, off the beaten track, beach & point breaks, reef breaks & if you are likely to get beaten up at certain places!
performance - tips & advice from those who are better than me!

weather - advice when looking at weather forecasts to help those not so informed be able to tell if some swell is coming and where to get this info ie. coastalwatch, b.o.m.
and maybe someway to keep up to date with the tour

oh and maybe a groms section to get those youngn's into boardworld early!

The potential for skate and surf videos might necessitate different home pages for each.
I guess this is one of those things that "well cross that bridge when we get to it"
but If there's a lot of participation with video posting for surf and skate like there is with snow, there may be too much content to have all in one place.
but for now it is working out.

There will definitely be a different homepage for each sport. As you see the snow homepage now, skate and surf will also have their own pages, similar but tailored for each sport. After we launch skate, there will be a new general homepage, where a user can click into snow, skate,surf, girls, or forums. At the moment we automatically redirect everything to /snow, because that's the only section which is up. But that will all change on September 1.

Any news on development of the surf section? Im hanging out for some surf tips and product news/reviews mainly!
