wow this is a very interesting thread.
ive always seen skullcandy headphones and earphones advertised around board shops and thought they were of top quality, the ones to buy..
But from this thread alone, this being the first time i have herd of Siege, ill look into them.

The eleven appeals to me but i cant see me wearing them while im boarding, first stack id ruin them wouldnt i? they're not that tough right?
+ i wear a helmet anyway :/
So between Stealth and Alpha, how much of a difference is there in sound quality?? the extra $20 worth it? (im a stingy uni student lmao) ..this is what i value probably the most important aspect of phones. (as long as they dont fall out of my ear extremely easily of course..).
Are each of em pretty tough too? chord wont come out of its bud easily if i turn my head and it gets caught..? plus, i dont wanna be spending the 20bucks more if they aren't strong enough..

Ah Snowslider, i was also wondering, the logo sticker that came with the phones, how big is this ( " X " ) thanks. was just about to look em up on ebay to see if they had any at all wen i read your post...

anyway, they look like good pieces of hardware.

the Elevens are big and i wouldn't wear them if i was having a serious day on the mountain.

the quality in sound is better with the stealths, the size of the driver is the same 10mm, but the stealth has a wider frequency range 16-20 (human hearing range), alpha is 18-20, so not as wide. the stealth handles and enhances the bass better than the alpha. but in the end it comes down to what music you listen to and how loud you listen to it.

the cords are made of tangle free woven cables and are solid.
both buds come with a range of cap sizes so you can swap them to find the best fit. Alpha has 4 sizes, stealth has 5.

there is also a new model out the Codec, which is an entry level set, the sound is good but not the same as the others and it has a tangle resistant rubber cord.

I must say that I've put many miles on my Stealth headphones now and I'm well pleased.
The sound quality diddnt take long to appreciate, and I've had a few different brands of headphones, but not been so impressed. I honestly have heard things in songs that I never heard before. just suttle instrumentation or back ground vocals or sampling etc. things that were always there, but I'd never heard before on some of my favorite songs! seriously. I diddnt think that was possible.

the design of these I spoke a little about above. THe cord is very nice and high quality.
I have heard some complain that you can hear the cord rubbing together, and yes that occurs with these headphones when listening a low volume. But you dont have to be listening too loud to override that sound. I really dont like listening too loud myself but the rubbing I dont hear much at all. I also think it depends on which covers you have on at the time.

Funny thing about trying on the different covers btw...
Every one is different and the Stealh comes with 5 different options. I think I may be using a different size for each ear. honestly because I find that some work in oen ear better than another ear.... it's a funny thin, but I guess my ears are different. Wouldnt many people experience this? i'd think so.
So lately the past couple time I've used them I have been using the largest size of the thin flimsy covers and they cancel out a bit more noise, but not all. (true noise canceling headphones cost Large $$$) They have fit well and dont seem to loosen much at all, but when they are ready to loosen, they just come right out.
I use them for running, which I think would be a good comparision for if using them snowboarding, as a lot of neck turning occurs and some bouncing motions... I'd think that these Siege buds would work best under my ear pads in my helmet, but I'd be curious to try just placing them in my ear pads and see if the volume can carry it to me.

the mid-cord volume feature is very nice. I like being able to adjust the volume rapidly when needed. I'm not sure how this would be accessible with a jacket and gloves on. but when running it's right there (under my shirt) but right at the hem of my shirt. It does weigh a little, and at first I felt the need to hold it all the time, but I soon got used to it and just let it hang now.

I tend to run a lot at night, now that it is summer and too hot during the day time. and I wear a chest strap thing that runs over my shoulders and around my body.
As the cord runs underneath it helps hold it in place so I like that.

Along the cord there are 2 adjustable pieces between the ear buds and the volume control. these slide up and down both right and left cords so you can choose where the cord splits at. This is a nice feature that you dont get with cheaper brand headphones.

I must say that I full condone these headphones and they are superior to the Skullcandy buds I have tried.

As for the "on-the-ear" headphones that I have from skullcandy, I like them and I cant compare them to the Siege buds, as that is comparing apples to oranges, but I'd be curious to know if the sound quality is also the same degree of improvement. I have not been disappointed with the sound quality from the skullcandy on-the-ear headphones, but I sure have been with the Siege buds, so I would guess they would be pretty awesome.

Sure it's a bit to invest, but honestly you dont want to have to spend that money twice. And SC wont give you 20%!
