You should check out all the articles in rider progression. You can learn some really valuable skills from them. I know they helped me a lot, I'm also learning to ride!! I've had about 10 days total and you wouldn't believe how quick the progression gets after the first couple days.

Ive recently bought a Freebord, it helps me a lot to feel more confident and of course I can ride on it the whole year.

Freebording is a cross between skateboarding and snowboarding. The board is larger than a normal skatboard with really wide wheels that act like an edge, and 2 wheels also in the middle of the board which rotate in all directions, allowing you to pivit. The result is a board which performs very similar to a snowboarding but for the streets. You can slide, carve, pivot... I would love to try one myself.
