Most stores I been seem to sell the stock standard brands and no-names. Probably because of the limited number of distributors. How about a name brand like Toko?

KUU wax is really good.... i know Melbourne Snowboard Centre stocks it. They do one wax with graphite which is really quick, can blacken your base though...

Can't go wrong with Swix either. I assume most good snowboard stores would stock it.

SWIX has made wax for years.
Wax doesnt have to be snowboard specific. Base materials and tech are the same as skis.

quick question - is there such a thing as a quick wax for your board that does the trick? impulse trip to thredbo this weekend but think our boards need a quick wax and don't have the time to get it done from now until we get there and once we are there, we really want to be there, know what i mean...recall i saw some guys in rusutsu doing a quick wax job for free but don't know if it works...any views?

I tried once of those wipe on "quick waxes" before I knew how to wax a board properly myself and you might as well save yourself the time and $$$, I noticed no difference at all.

It was pretty much just a paste that you rubbed on with a sponge and apart from giving the base a glossy appearance, it didn't seem to last 5 seconds after the board hit the snow and certainly didn't benefit the performance of the board...

Rub on waxes really don't last for more than a few runs, if that. You would be much better off going to Rhythm in Cooma (they are open 24/7 during winter) or one of the snowboard stores in Jindy, and paying $10 for a proper hot wax.

Where abouts in Melbourne are you?

Bumps in Elsternwick stocks both Toko & Swix.
Auski in the City Toko also.

Both also have online stores.
